Join us for a joyful Lantern Festival Celebration on Tuesday, March 3, as we welcome the wider community to experience one of the most beloved traditions marking the close of the Chinese New Year season.
The Lantern Festival (元宵节) symbolizes reunion, light, and hope for the year ahead. In ancient China, it was also known as the country’s “Valentine’s Day,” a rare occasion when people could gather freely under lantern-lit skies to celebrate love and connection.
What to Expect
Come create your own lantern! We will provide lanterns and drawing materials, and you are invited to decorate your lantern with beautiful designs and meaningful words.
A special tradition of the Lantern Festival is solving riddles. Please prepare Chinese and English riddles in advance and write them on your lantern for others to guess. It’s a fun way to share language, culture, and creativity with the community.
