Please join us for a campus forum/presentation with a candidate for the Dean of the College of Performing & Visual Arts, Michael T. Schmidt, on Tuesday, April 8th at 10:00 am in the Church Auditorium. 

Mr. Schmidt serves as the Interim Dean of the College of Arts at Valdosta State University in Georgia. He served six years as Associate Dean (2016-2022) and four years as the Head of the Department of Art & Design (2013-2016 & 2021-2022). Michael has taught ceramics and foundations courses at VSU for over 20 years. He received his BFA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater studying graphic design, art history, ceramics, and painting. He received his MFA from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in ceramics and sculpture. Much of his creative work involves themes of use, function, industry, and a sense of history.
