About
Procuring goods and services using public funds is a critical responsibility of government and other public institutions including school districts, universities, colleges, cities, counties and states. This course is designed for those who work in purchasing wanting to strengthen their understanding of policies that govern how purchasing is done and when public funds may be utilized.
Those who work in private purchasing positions, or those looking to explore a career in purchasing, may also be interested in learning the essential information to be successful in this interesting career path.
Prepared by the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), this course will help prepare students for the Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB)® certificate from the Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC) and for the NIGP-Certified Procurement Professional (NIGP-CPP) certificate. It will also help provide education hours to extend an individual’s certification and/or meeting eligibility requirements.
