The Satellite Salon Series in FREE a nd open to the public!\n\nIn addition to her 7:30 p.m. concert\, Aubree wi ll perform and give a Q&A session with Iron County Orchestra Students at C edar High School at 11:00 a.m.\, followed by a public masterclass with SUU String students at 3:00 p.m. in the Thorley Recital Hall.\n\nThis install ment of the SUU Satellite Salon Series is supported by Beverley Taylor Sor enson artsFUSION.\n\nAbout the Artist\n\nPraised for her evocative lyricis m and joyful\, genuine approach\, young American violinist Aubree Oliverso n is proving to be one of the most compelling artists of her generation\, distinguishing herself with clear\, honest\, and colourful performances\, which have been described as “powerful… brimming with confidence and j oy” by the (Miami New Times).\n\nAcclaimed as a “masterful” soloist (San Diego Story)\, Aubree’s most recent solo appearances in 2023 includ e season openings of the Chamber Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall (d i Vittorio)\, Utah Symphony at Abravanel Hall (Morlot)\, Peace Orchestra P roject (Mengoli)\, and Ridgefield Symphony with a pairing of the Barber an d Esmail violin concertos. Other season highlights include performances wi th the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic (Teychenné)\, Columbus Symphony (Mill er)\, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra (Hoving)\, North Carolina Symphony (P rieto)\, Pacific Symphony (St. Clair)\, Des Moines Symphony (St. Clair)\, Amarillo Symphony (Jackson)\, Moldavian Philharmonic (Macek)\, Excelentia Madrid (Braunstein)\, Slovak Sinfonietta (Foron)\, Rousse Philharmonic Orc hestra (Sachedina)\, New Haven Symphony (So)\, Puerto Rico Symphony (Vald és)\, and the Kontrapunktus Baroque Ensemble\; in works by Brahms\, Dvora k\, Barber\, Bruch\, Korngold\, Mendelssohn\, Tchaikovsky\, Weinberg\, Hay dn\, Saint-Saens\, Esmail\, and Bach.\n\nPassionate about and at ease with all periods of classical repertoire\, Ms. Oliverson is committed both to performing the beloved standard works for as many people as possible\, as well as bringing lesser-known pieces into their rightful spotlight: “I p lay music that speaks to me regardless of how often it’s already being p layed\, rediscovering lost masterpieces and composers who deserve more att ention\, paired with my own fresh take on the classics. It’s my hope tha t if I love a piece\, someone in the audience will too.” Among the works she has championed over the years are the Pergolesi Bb Major concerto\, J ulius Conus concerto (1896)\, Weinberg concertino (1948)\, Reena Esmail “The Blue Room” concerto (2007)\, Salvatore di Vittorio “Voyages of Aeneas” concerto (2022)\, and more\, alongside her favorite standard rep ertoire. Aubree’s recording of the Weinberg concertino with Parlando NYC will be released in February of 2025.\n\nA dynamic recitalist and sensiti ve chamber musician\, Aubree recently toured Europe with Jean-Yves Thibaud et\, Clive Greensmith\, and Tatjana Masurenko and collaborates this season with Anne Akiko Meyers and the Philharmonic Society of Orange County in d uo works of Bach\, Philip Glass\, and Handel-Halvorsen. Other engagements include festivals such as the Aix-en-Provence Easter Festival with Gil Sha ham\, the Rome Chamber Music Festival\, Oropa Music Festival\, Moab Music Festival\, ChamberFest West\, and recitals at the Aspen Music Festival\, G rand Teton Music Festival and SOKA Performing Arts Center\, among many oth ers. Ms. Oliverson has collaborated with world-renowned artists such as Ro bert McDuffie in Harris Hall at the Aspen Music Festival\, Gil Shaham on t our in Mexico\, Renaud Capuçon in France\, Joseph Silverstein in Salt Lak e City\, and Lynn Harrell\, Orli Shaham\, Robert Chen\, and Andrew Marrine r in Los Angeles.\n\nMs. Oliverson has been dedicated to reaching a broade r audience and the importance of music education from a young age\, and sh e has travelled to over 100 schools throughout the Western United States a nd spoken at national education conventions\, encouraging thousands of chi ldren to work hard and participate in music. Recently\, Aubree presented d igital master classes for organizations including the Orchestra of the Ame ricas\, Music to Save Humanity\, and Kontrapunktus Baroque\, and she parti cipated in a masterclass and side-by-side performance with the Esperanza A zteca Youth Orchestra in Mexico.\n\nAubree was named a United States Presi dential Scholar in the Arts\, one of the highest honours the U.S. Governme nt can bestow on a high school student. She also won the ‘Special Prize of Merit’ for violin at the prestigious Verbier Festival Academy\, the A spen Music Festival Dorothy Delay competition\, a National YoungArts Found ation award\, and was recently awarded the 2023 Francis Rosen Prize at the Colburn Conservatory\, where she also obtained her Bachelor’s Degree an d Artist Diploma. Ms. Oliverson was also one of the youngest-ever recipien ts of the Utah Governor’s Mansion Artist Award. A former student of Debb ie Moench\, Eugene Watanabe\, Danielle Belen\, and Boris Kuschnir at the M usik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien\, Aubree graduated from t he Colburn Music Academy in 2016 and from the Colburn Conservatory in 2023 \, studying with the Jascha Heifetz Distinguished Violin Chair\, Mr. Rober t Lipsett\, for nine years.\n\nAubree plays a very fine Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin\, kindly loaned to her by Irene R. Miller through the Be are's International Violin Society\, and a Jean “Grand” Adam bow on lo an from the Metzler Violin Shop.\n\nSUU Satellite Salon Series\n\nThe SUU Satellite Salon Series is a unique concert experience that brings together world-class musicians and artists for an engaging weekend of performances and learning. Held twice a year\, in September and January\, the series f eatures a guest artist who participates in a small residency on the Southe rn Utah University campus.\n\nThe weekend typically begins with a mastercl ass open to both university and high school students\, followed by a Q&A s ession styled after "Inside the Actor's Studio." On Saturday evening\, the collaboration culminates in the dynamic Satellite Salon concert at 7:30 p .m.\, often incorporating visual art to create a multi-sensory experience for the audience.
