Market President & head of Business Banking

David is currently serving as President for Hillcrest Bank Utah & Idaho and Head of Business Banking for NBH Bank, the holding company for Hillcrest Bank. In this role, David is responsible for leading the growth efforts for the bank in the defined markets and leading the overall line of business across the bank’s footprint.  This includes working with clients of all sizes and helping advise them on operational efficiencies through our comprehensive treasury management platform, senior debt structures, participations and growth strategies.  The focus of our bank is to grow our bank one relationship at a time by delivering on our Common Sense approach through our Relationship Banking model. We are now recognized as Utah’s #1 SBA 504 lender. 

Prior to joining Hillcrest Bank, David spent 13 years with SunTrust and led the Commercial Banking team in Central Florida.  There, David and his team were responsible for managing one of the bank’s largest portfolios and was very active in one of the bank's legacy markets.  At SunTrust, David and his team worked with privately held companies on transition planning, increasing shareholder value and leveraging the bank's universal banking platform which included investment banking and leveraged finance capabilities. 

In the community, David is currently serving on the Utah Black Chamber, Junior Achievement of Utah & Idaho and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) boards locally.  Additionally, he serves on various committees for MountainWest Capital Network, EDC Utah, Habitat for Humanity, United Way of Salt Lake City, American Heart Association and is a graduate of Leadership Utah.  David received his Bachelor Degree in Political Science – Pre-Law from the University of Central Florida.
