About
Finding Success in Animal Services (FSAS) explores the foundations of the field of animal services and prepares participants to support change and learn the importance of data. During the seven-week course, students will learn about career opportunities within the field, programs that support lifesaving and become more confident in leading change. Topics covered include engaging the community, effectively working in the shelter environment, enhancing organizational culture, building resilience, successfully forming partnerships, and much more.
This course is designed to help learners improve their skills and become more effective in their current role, and it provides a framework for individuals outside the field who are looking to transition into a career in animal services.
Upon completion, participants will walk away with a deeper understanding of how they can maximize their impact and support programs that help people and pets. Leading lifesaving change can come from any position or professional level within the animal services field. This course explores ways of making a positive and long-lasting difference in animals’ lives.
Successfully completing FSAS results in a digital microcredential that, when stacked together with the Dog Lifesaving Fundamentals and Cat Lifesaving Fundamentals, completes the Contemporary Animal Services Fundamentals Certificate.
