The U.S. House Subcommittee on Energy and Mineral Resources will conduct a field hearing on geothermal energy on Monday, May 12, at 2pm in the Church Auditorium.
Rep. Celeste Maloy will lead a delegation of members of Congress, from across the nation, to Utah to gain greater understanding of Utah's geothermal energy business and to hear from local professionals in the field. Such a field hearing provides members of Congress the opportunity to get out of Washington and witness geothermal energy operations in person. The hearing will be conducted in the same manner as all congressional hearings with members of Congress receiving testimony from a slate of witnesses. The Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service is pleased to host this rare opportunity to see how national legislative business and fact-finding are conducted.
