SUU has partnered with CareerStep to help you go to work as a veterinary assistant by earning your Approved Veterinary Assistant certificate. The Veterinary Assistant Program is an eight month self-paced course with a focus on job readiness and is approved by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America (NAVTA).

Developed by industry professionals with years of real-world experience, this course includes engaging materials, videos, learning games and practical exercises to build confidence in a veterinary clinic setting and prepare for the Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) exam. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including veterinary office procedures, medical record keeping and digital technology.

Upon completion of the program, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a required externship. Additionally, an exam voucher for the AVA certification is provided.
